Tasks
The committee of cardiorespiratory - exercise and aging provide strategic guidance for the SAPA’s research programs and scientific policies. Our committee’s main goal is to increase our awareness and disseminate knowledge of the mechanisms of aging in the heart and lungs with interest in terms of the physiology of aging. Accordingly how we can help the elderly in increasing their cardiopulmonary function through exercise protocols and lifestyle modification. The mission of the committee of cardiorespiratory - exercise and aging of the SAPA is to promote excellence in research from the viewpoint of exercise, education, and exercise policy in cardiovascular and respiratory health. The committee of cardiorespiratory - exercise and aging of the SAPA is the leading committee for exercise physiologists involved in preventive cardiorespiratory and interested in tackling cardiovascular and respiratory system risk factors.
The important responsibilities and duties of the Committee of Cardiorespiratory- Exercise and Aging are:
- Promoting a holistic approach to risk factors management.
- Providing consultation to the SAPA.
- The globalization of this awareness that exercise is medicine for the elderly.
- Role of exercise in the prevention of lung diseases in the elderly.
- Ensure the dissemination of knowledge and standards in preventive cardiorespiratory.
- Provide education in prevention through exercise protocols.
- To accelerate global innovation in the advancement of respiratory health
- Provide practical tools for CVD risk assessment and management.
- Release of textbooks and applied handbooks.
- Addressing physical activity for the promotion of a lifestyle.
- Providing respiratory muscle training in neuromuscular adaptation in aging.
- Holding scientific meetings and conferences
- Providing online seminars for researchers about exercise cardiorespiratory system and aging.
