The SAPA's Guidelines
| Post date: 2023/02/7 |
The Society of Aging and Physical Activity (SAPA) publishes guidelines and scientific statements on exercise training in aging topics to improve life quality in aging. The SAPA volunteer scientists and physical activity professionals write the statements. The statements are supported by scientific studies published in recognized journals and have a rigorous review and approval process. Scientific statements generally include a review of data available on a specific subject, an evaluation of its relationship to overall aging and physical activity sciences, and often a SAPA position based on that evaluation.
The SAPA is also dedicated to providing evidence-based recommendations setting the standards for exercise training and physical activity in aging as guidelines. These manuals give succinct summaries of recommended procedures for exercise training and exercise prescription in healthy and diseased older adults. We continually develop new guidelines and update existing guidelines to reflect evolving exercise training science and meet the needs of practicing trainers and certification candidates. These critical handbooks deliver scientifically based standards on exercise training and prescription in aging. You can see and browse existing guidelines below.
